Olivia qualified from Liverpool University in 2009. She has had experience with working with animals of all sizes, emergency medicine, and is especially interested in small animal surgery. When not at the practice she is usually found trail running in the hills with her two dogs, looking after her three children and ever-expanding menagerie at home!
Martin qualified from Glasgow University in 1987. Clinically his interests lie in preventative care and medicine. Outside of work he plays squash and enjoys gardening.
Alison qualified from Liverpool University in 1990 and enjoys both small animal medicine and surgery.
When not at work she enjoys walking with her two dogs, yoga, mountain biking and painting.
Joanne Nuttall RVN has worked at Brighouse Vets since 1988. A former breeder of West Highland White Terriers who still owns a Westie, is an incredibly experienced dog owner and familiar with all the pleasures and problems that puppies can bring. Outside of work Jo enjoys trips in her campervan, walking and dining out.
Michelle Haley RVN qualified in 2009. She brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the practice after working in various environments over the years, from GP clinics, emergency night work to hectic charity work. When she is not at work she enjoys walking her dog and spending time with her family.
Helen Maltby came to us from the RSPCA where she had worked for 12 years. She has a diploma in Animal Care from Huddersfield Technical College. In her spare time she enjoys reading and dining out with friends.
Laura Bovington achieved a National Diploma at Huddersfield Technical College in Animal Management and following on from this achieved a certificate of higher education in Animal Management from Askham Bryan College in York. She has worked for us since 2013. Outside of work Laura runs the 1st Pennine East Girl Guides and Brownies.
Carole is one of our newest receptionists, coming from a background of working in veterinary practices. Carole really enjoys meeting the animals attending the practice and having a cuddle or two where possible! Outside of work she enjoys walking her dogs, swimming and being in the countryside.
Sarah has worked in the pet industry for over 20 years and has her level 3 dog grooming qualification. Sarah used to breed guinea pigs years ago and still has a keen interest in them. Outside of work Sarah enjoys spending time with her two active boys and walking her Cocker Spaniel Robin.
